Minoru "Nick" Nikaido, age 72, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, KY. Mr. Nikaido was a retired US Naval Officer having served 38 years. He was a Marine Engineer graduate of the US Navy and had served three tours in Vietnam and one in Desert Storm. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, the Cadiz Lions Club, NARFE, past president of the American Legion Post No. 74 and the VFW Post No. 7890. He was survived by: Wife of 40 years - Mrs. Carole Nikaido, Cadiz, KY, Three Daughters & Sons-In-Law- Noelle & Ivan Sim, Chicago, IL, Nicole Nikaido, San Francisco, CA, Mari, Incho & Daughter Gabrielle of Lynnwood, WA. Three Brothers- George Nikaido, Maui, HI, Masaichi Nikaido, Maui, HI & Denis Nikaido, Maui, HI, Two Sisters- Carol Nikaido, Maui, HI & Leatrice Nikaido, Maui, HI, One Granddaughter - Scout Sim, Chicago, IL & Beloved Pets- Geisha, Shogun & Kiko. He was preceded in death by: Father - Sakai Nikaido & Mother - Tsuyako Nikaido. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 04, 2012. Funeral Service will be at Bethel United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012 with the Reverend Kenny Rogers officiating. Burial at a later date will follow at Ky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.
