Malcolm Ray Sons, age 75, of Cerulean, KY, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Bradford Heights in Hopkinsville, KY. Mr. Sons was a retired postal worker and farmer. He was US Army veteran, a member of Cerulean Baptist Church where he had served as deacon for fifty years, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, chairman of the deacons and church treasurer. He was a past board member of the Trigg County Board of Education, a fifty year member of Cerulean Masonic Lodge No. 875 where he had served as a past master, past board member of the Farm Bureau board of directors. He was an inaugural member of the Trigg County Football Hall of Fame. He was survied by: Wifeof 56 years - Nancy Broadbent Sons, Cerulean, KY, One Son & Friend- Jerry Sons & Lisa Guinn, Cadiz, KY, One Daughter & Son-In-Law - Sharon & Stevie Butts, Cadiz, KY, One Sister & Brother-In-Law - Louise & Joe Guess, Cadiz, KY, Sister-In-Law- Evelyn Sons, Oklahoma City, OK, Brother-In-Law & Sister-In-Law- Buddy & Joyce Broadbent, Cerulean, KY, Two Grandchildren - Samantha Butts and Jeremy Butts, One Niece - Debra Sons Smith, Moore, OK, Three Nephews - Steve Guess, Bowlin Green, KY, Dr. John Broadbent, Paducah, KY and Jeff Broadbent, Cerulean, KY. He was preceded in death by: Father - Lonnie R. Sons, Sr., Mother - Eleanor Noel Sons and One Brother-Lonnie Sons, Jr.. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive frends after 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 01, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home and Sunday, January 2, 2011 9:00 AM until the funeral time of 11:00 AM at Cerulean Baptist Church. A Masonic service will be held Saturday evening at 6:00 PM at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at Cerulean Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Sunday, January 02, 2011 with the Reverend Gary Mitchell and Reverend Reed Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Wall Cemetery in Wallonia, KY.
