L. C. "Curly" Burks, Jr, age 76, of Cadiz, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY. Mr. Burks was a member of Canton Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and co-owner of Burks Constructions. He was a US Army Veteran and member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121. He is survived by his Wife of 51 years Betty Bullock Burks, Cadiz, KY, Son Gary Burks, Cadiz, KY, Brother William Gordon "Bill" Burks, Hot Springs , SD, Grandson Benji Burks and Step Grandchildren Justin Kelly & Victoria Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Parents Lynn Clardy & Ruby Louis Tooke Burks, Sr., Sister Mary Farell. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 with the Reverend Rev. Paul Cannon Rev. Damien Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in Trigg Co., KY.
