Joe Lacy Lancaster, Sr., age 89, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY. Mr. Lancaster was a retired building contractor, was involved in auto sales and service and was a farmer. He was a life long member of Oakland United Methodist Church and was a WWII US Army veteran. He was survived by: Wife of 41 years - Lucy Lancaster, Cadiz, KY, Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law- Peggy & Jim Smith, Owensboro, KY, Connie & Bobby Allen, Cadiz, KY, Two Sons & Daughters-In-Law-Joe, Jr. & Jill Lancaster, Lawrenceburg, KY & Terry & Lisa Parker, Lakeland, FL, Nine Grandchildren- Marc Smith, Lacy Lancaster, Emily Lancaster, Angela Farlee, Brandon & Julie Parker, Heather Weaver, Kirby Weaver, Justin & Jeana Allen, Hannah Parker. Three Great Grandchildren- Coda Tru Becker , Toby Tyler Becker & McKayla Farlee. He was preceded in death by: Father - Johnnie Jefferson Lancaster, Mother - Albirtia Sholar Lancaster,1st wife - Gertrude Ezell Lancaster, Five Brothers-Thomas Durwood Lancaster, Johnnie Claude Lancaster, Garnett Lee Lancaster, Wilton Henry Lancaster & Herman Crenshaw Lancaster, Four Sisters- Beulah Frances Gray, Mary Bessie Mize, Myra Lou Lancaster & Lula Pearl Sholar, One Grandson - Frankie Smith & OneGranddaughter - Lea Smith. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2011 with the Reverend Peggy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
