Jerry Wayne "Dum-Dum" Proffitt, age 61, of Cadiz, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at his residence of natural causes. Mr. Proffitt was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and a retired heavy epuipment operator. He is survived by his Wife Wanda Jean Proffitt, Cadiz, KY, Sons Timothy Proffitt & Joseph Ernest Cullum, Jr. both of Cadiz, KY, Daughters Tabitha Johnson, Traci Choate and April Michelle Cottrell, all of Cadiz, KY, Brothers Linzie Proffitt, Paul Proffitt, Terry Proffitt, all of Cadiz, KY and Harry Proffitt, St. Louis, MO, Sisters Rose Mary Lampkin, Tampa, FL and Lois Ann Hargrove, Cadiz, KY, Grandchildren Stephanie Anderson, Cocy Choate, Jonathan Proffitt, Dalton Choate, Summer Cottrell, Ariana White and Malachi Cottrell, Great Grandchild Elizabeth Anderson. He was preceded in death by his Parents Roy Hayden & Lena Pauline "Jack" Oliver Proffitt, Baby In Infancy and a Brother Darrell Glenn Proffitt. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 13, 2011 with the Reverend Mark Choate and Timothy Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow at New Jerusalem Cemetery in Trigg Coounty, KY.
