Jerry Garland, age 56, of Cadiz, Ky., died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton, Ky. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he was a Deacon & Sunday School Teacher. He was employed as Construction Superintendent for KY State Parks. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Gray) Garland, Cadiz, KY Two Daughters & Son In Law Joni & Paul Wharton of Virginia Beach, Va., Katie Jo Garland of Bowling Green, Ky., One Son, Josh Garland of Cadiz, Ky., Three Sisters & Brother In Law Peggy Mancuso of Panorama City, Calif., Gail & Tom Ravellette of Cadiz, Ky., Margaret Gray of Cadiz, Ky., One Brother & Sister In Law Billy Joe & Virginia Garland of Cadiz, Ky., Three grandchildren Madison Wharton, Kendra Wharton and Tyson Wharton. He was preceded in death by his Parents Artel & Bennie Lee (Henderson) Garland, Brothers James Artel Garland, Larry Gene Garland and Samuel Thomas Garland. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050, Cadiz, Ky., where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Funeral service will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2010 with Reverend Bill Amberg and Reverend Richard Sexton officiating.
