Janice Margaret McKenzie, 72, of Cadiz, died May 1st, 2010. She was born in Worthington MN on May 11th 1937 to Martin and Rose Wendland. Janice moved to the western Kentucky area in 1965 with her husband Robert and two sons. They managed the Rod-N-Reel resort in what is now the Land Between the Lakes, and later moved to Cadiz where Janice began her career at Hoover / Johnson Controls. While employed at Johnson Controls she earned her bachelors degree at Murray State University. She retired from Johnson Controls after having held many positions there, the last as a consultant in quality control. During her retirement, Janice was active in Relay for Life campaigns and served several local causes as a volunteer. She attended Saint Stephens Catholic Church. Janice was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Martin Wendland, her brother Brian Wendland, and her husband Robert McKenzie. Janice is survived by her brother Gene Wendland and her sister Kathleen D'Avia of MN; her son Paul McKenzie and his wife Mary of Madisonville, KY; her son Jim McKenzie and his wife Michelle of Lawrenceville, GA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Randy Taylor Jr. of Madisonville, KY; Trisha Kinney of Enterprise, AL; Elizabeth Kaufman and Ryan McKenzie of Lawrenceville, GA; and one great-grandchild,Jonathan Taylor of Madisonville, KY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society %Dee Eggers 203 Choctaw Drive, Cadiz, KY 42211 . Funeral service will be Sat. May 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, KY with Father Anthoni Ottagan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 7, 2010 after 5:00 PM at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, KY.
