Gordon Mitchell, age 47, of Cadiz, Ky., passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010, at The Garrett Farms in Trigg Co., KY. He attended Canton Baptist Church. He was the farm manager of Garrett Farms and he was also the former owner and operator of The Cadiz Restaurant. He was the Pres. of The KY Junior Rodeo Assoc., Secretary for Ducks Unlimited, Coordinator of The Annual Toys For Tots Trail Ride and was a KY Col. He is survived by his Daughter Megan Mitchell of Cadiz, Ky., Mother and Stepfather Janie (Williams) & Tommy Oliver, Cadiz, KY, Fiancee Pebbles Lancaster, Cadiz, KY, Step Daughter Chassen Lancaster of Cadiz, Ky., Brother & Sister In Law Greg & Melissa Mitchell, Cadiz, KY. Foster Brother Gary "J.R." Houha, Cadiz, KY Step Brother Michael & Oliver of Cadiz, Ky., Stepsister Missy & Jay Lefan, Eddyville, KY, Nephew Caleb Mitchell, Step Nephews Cody Autry & Ty Lefan, Step Nieces Courtney Oliver & Lauren Oliver, Several Aunts & Uncles also survive. He was preceded in death by Father Willard "Pete" Barkley Mitchell, Sr. and his Brother Willard Barkley Mitchell, Jr. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050, Cadiz, Ky., where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home of Cadiz, KY at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2010, with Reverend Paul Cannon officiating. Interment will be at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery in Canton, Ky. Memorial contributions can be made to Megan Mitchell Fund %Heritage Bank, Cadiz, KY.
