Ernest "Ike" Johnston, age 87, of Cadiz, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, Ky. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and former church treasurer. He retired from The Soil Conservation Service in 1987. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII, he was also a member of NARFE. He is survived by his Daughter and Son In Law Suellen & Vernon Hendricks of Cadiz, Ky. and One grandson Jason Clark Ezell, Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by his Father Ernest Smith Johnston, Sr.. Mother Georgia "Pug" (Humphries) Johnston, Wife Willie Mae (Goode) Johnston, Son Jerry Johnston. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050, Cadiz, Ky., where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2010. Funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, KY at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2010, with Reverend John Hagan and Reverend Norman Cotton officiating. Interment will be at Jones Cemetery in Trigg Co., KY. Memorial contributions can be made to Jones Cemetery Fund 76 Brame Rd, Cadiz, KY 42211.
