Bro. Joe M. Rogers, age 97, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Christian Care Communities in Hopkinsville, KY. Bro. Rogers was a retired minister, construction worker and a farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. He was survived by: One Daughter & Son-In-Law - Dianne & R.B. King, Cadiz, KY, Three Sons & Daughters-In-Law - Bill & Sue Rogers, Somerset, KY, Bob & Patty Rogers, Cadiz, KY, Roy & Wanda Rogers, Cadiz, KY, Eight Grandchildren- Bobby Rogers, Tony Rogers, Jason Rogers, Kim Perkins, Christy Oliver, Shadrick Seals, Dewanna King & John Seals, Seven Great Grandchildren- Bryce Rogers, Shayne Rogers, Trent Rogers, Bryon Rogers, Melena McCown, Lexie Atkins, Courtney Oliver, Lauren Oliver, McKayla Rogers & Kayla Perkins. He was preceded in death by: Father - Luther Rogers, Mother - Maryetta King Rogers, Wife - Georgia Rogers, Three Brothers - Rudolph Rogers, Randolph Rogers & Monroe Rogers, Five Sisters- Goldie Taylor, Elizabeth Gee, Nannie Sholar, Lorene Ladd & Mary Humphries. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Monday, May 30, 2011. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 with the Rev. Gary Heath & Rev. Greg Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
